Quick Treatments For a Beautiful Summer Glow

Quick Treatments For a Beautiful Summer Glow

While we don’t have a crystal ball when it comes to weather predictions, one thing is for sure: sun, heat, and humidity are on their way! Now is the time to recalibrate your skin care routine, treatments, and products in order to welcome the season looking your most gorgeous. Take a look at our summer prep checklist, and then call or email us to schedule an appointment.

    • Have a Laser consultation with your Skinovator about which treatments you should start now. These may include laser hair removal and IPL for brown and red spot removal as well as lasers for tightening the skin around the knees and arms.
    • SRTs (Skin Rejuvenation Treatments). Skin tags, unsightly brown spots, and those crazy, red dots have an annoying habit of appearing out of nowhere, so let’s do a full body check to locate and zap them! Both men and women will benefit from weekly treatments to get the skin looking gorgeous and silky smooth from head to toe.
    • Don’t forget BOTOX! Why frown in the sun when you can be flawless and wrinkle-free?
    • Switch to a foaming face wash, such as Obagi, or a salicylic or glycolic-acid cleanser (Sanitas) to remove dirt, oil, and the sun protection we hope you’re already applying daily. If you’re prone to breakouts, add Obagi Exfoderm to your routine to keep your pores clean and clear.  Sanitas Moisture Mist is a great addition to your tote, as it refreshes, cools, and adds moisture to your skin with its light emollient quality. It also counteracts the drying effects of chlorine, tap, and salt water.
    • Exfoliate regularly to remove the grayish top layer of over-exposed skin, as well as physical blocks and natural oils. During the summer, you can safely exfoliate more frequently because the skin is oilier and the underlying tissue is stronger, but do be careful about not overdoing it. Also be vigilant about your sun protection to prevent sunburns, peeling, and blisters. Do any intensive peels now, because you should reduce your use of retinoids and acids in the summer due to increased sun exposure.
    • Wear large hats and sunglasses and apply clear, zinc-based sun protection products like MD Solar Science Broad Spectrum UVA-UVB Sun Protection and Obagi Physical UV Block before you go out, whether you’re going for a quick walk or lounging around the pool. Don’t forget to coat your shoulders, hands, knees, and tops of the feet, which are often overlooked—ouch!
    • In the evening, after showering, apply a tiny amount of coconut oil over your entire body for a moisturizing, deliciously-scented, golden glow.
