Anti-Aging Q&A

This is by far the most common question we get asked by clients new to the Institute. The idea that the epidermis, the visible and outermost layer of the skin, can be completely transformed is a difficult concept to grasp at first. But upon meeting the 53 year old, silken-skinned Dangene and her Skinovators, it is easy to become a believer. Dangene’s tried and true ideology, combined with her team’s knowhow and expertise, make turning back the clock and reversing the physical manifestations of aging not only a possibility but a promise.

While removing anything red, brown, bumpy and veiny from the skin, we simultaneously jumpstart the body’s natural ability to produce collagen to keep you looking younger, longer. You shouldn’t have to live life away from the sun and all the fun. Remember: live your life, and let the Skinovators take care of your skin.

    Anti-Aging Q&A - Part 1

This is the first of a two part interview with Dangene who will share her expert advice on how to take care of your skin and how to avoid the signs of aging. We are also proud to introduce Paula Simon, our client at the Institute of Skinovation who has been coming for anti-aging treatments since March 2013.

Q: When would be the best time to start anti-aging treatments/products?

Mico-manage your skin from an early age. I started when I was 12. I've always said that preventing wrinkles before they form is the way to never have a wrinkle!

Twice a day, a young person should wash, tone and moisturize their face with proper products for their skin type. Later in their 20s, simply continue with the same routine knowing that at some point you have to make some product tweaks as the skin changes. Remember, it's all about prevention at an early age so starting to add a little botox here and there will decrease the probability of deep lines later in life. I started botox in my 20s and i'm convinced it's part of the reason I have the look I have today. Beginning the anti-aging process with microdermabrasion, ultrasound infusion, oxygen therapy and led light treatment is a great way to maintain what you have and prevent what you don't want. From the 30s on you'll need to add a little more botox, a few more skin rejuvenation treatments as well as laser treatments to stimulate collagen production and keep the skin firm.

Q: What can be done to reduce fine lines and wrinkles?

Consistent skin rejuvenation treatments including microdermabrasion, oxygen, led lights, botox and lasers all help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Q: Do anti-aging creams really work?

Yes! But the products must contain active ingredients and be used consistently.

Q: Do anti-aging products/treatments only temporarily fix fine lines and wrinkles?

If the products are used consistently they will continue to keep your skin smoother than if you weren't using any treatments.

Q: How much does wearing sunscreen play a role in preventing future wrinkles?

Using zinc based sun protectants and never allowing your skin to burn will greatly reduce your risk of developing wrinkles.

Q: Are there products that can cause wrinkles or faster aging?

Yes! If you are allergic to a product or put your skin in a compromising position, it can age faster.

    Anti-Aging Q&A - Part 2

Q: Stress, smoking and diet are a couple key ingredients for creating wrinkles and aging faster… is there anything else major to add to that list?

Drugs, alcohol, unhappiness, too much sun exposure, lack of sleep and illness.

Q: For those who have bags under their eyes, is there another way to get rid of them without having to have surgery?

Darn! This is a really tough one, but you can watch your salt intake, get sleep, use products that reduce swelling, and try lymphatic drainage.

Q: Is there a particular product/procedure that can help get rid of wrinkles on the forehead, around the mouth, under eye wrinkles, and "crows feet"?

"Get rid of" is a huge claim, "diminish" would be more like it. Botox definitely helps with those wrinkles, as well as microdermabrasion, oxygen therapy, retin a, and our dangene 10 in 1 serum.

Q: How well do injectable anti-aging treatments work?

Perfection! There’s nothing like it in the world. Botox, filler & lasers are the wave of the future. Our 10 in 1 serum is like anti-aging magic in a bottle! Also we love the Obagi line and Amore Pacific Gold line eye cream.

Q: Are there anti-aging treatments available for men as well?

Yes! Treatment for men and women is exactly the same, however sometimes male skin is tougher due to larger hair follicles, more hair, more scars and extra time spent outside.
