When it comes to knowledge, Angie has always had a holistic approach, which is clear from her wide-ranging expertise as a life coach, holistic health counselor, and chef—in addition to being an experienced veteran of the esthetic industry. But her perspective underwent a radical change when she joined the team at the Institute of Skinovation. Read on for a more in-depth look at Angie’s philosophy and journey.
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE PART OF DANGENE'S SKINCARE PHILOSOPHY?
I think what sets dangene apart from everywhere else is our “no one size fits all” approach. Bio individuality is so important when it comes to any kind of healthcare and skin should be treated the same!
WHAT ABOUT YOUR OWN SKINCARE PHILOSOPHY?
I should confess: when I started, I was very well versed in skincare and dermatology, but I still could never see myself without my crutch of foundation and concealers and luminizers. I’ve been wearing them since I was 12 years old, convincing myself that “natural” and “light” formulas were just fine. I knew it would be hard, but the first week of wearing nothing on my face was SO difficult—I found myself being quiet and reserved. Dangene assured me it would be worth it and that I’d be happy with my naked face in no time. I trusted her and Samantha and sure enough, I now cringe at the thought of wearing all that stuff! Now, it literally takes me mere minutes to get ready!
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO WHEN YOU’RE AWAY FROM THE INSTITUTE?
I’m originally from the Hudson Valley, so I like to travel up there when I can for hiking, farm stand ravaging (I love to cook!), and exploring. I also have two adorable nieces that I love to spend weekends with playing princess dress up and having mini dance parties.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR BACKGROUND AND EDUCATION?
I’ve been in this industry (or adjacent) for most of my career, working at esthetic schools and spas. I decided to further my education into holistic nutrition and opened my own business doing women’s health coaching and private chef work. My move to the West Coast gave me the opportunity to really immerse myself in the realm of cosmetic injectables, and that’s where I really found my passion: learning everything I could about the science as well as training my eye for symmetry and balance when consulting patients.
