Tell us about your background.
I began my career as a makeup artist in film, television, and fashion, gradually developing a roster of private clients on both coasts. It gave me a lot of joy as well as professional satisfaction to see how confident and beautiful my work made my clients look and feel.
What made you move away from makeup to skincare?
On a flight to LA, I met Dangene and immediately connected with her. I realized that while I’d perfected the art of using makeup to conceal flaws, Dangene’s philosophy was all about making a person’s skin look flawless without makeup. I was instantly obsessed with Dangene’s distinctive technique as well as the aesthetic possibilities it offered, so I began training with her, adding medical aesthetics skills to my decade of experience in the beauty industry. I became a full-fledged Skinovator after an intense period of hands-on practice and professional licensing.
What do you like most about being a Skinovator?
So many things! I enjoy working with clients to create the perfect look for each person. Eyebrows are especially important because they frame the face and can really open up your eyes. I’m also a product specialist, and I love learning about the latest developments and finding the products that best suit our clients. I get true satisfaction from customizing home care regimes and I’m passionate about helping our clients stick with their program—I want them to achieve the skin they dream of!
What do you like to do when you’re not at the Institute?
I’m devoted to my wonderful, filmmaker husband, my adorable little boy, and our little menagerie: a dog and two cats. I love exploring and having adventures with my family in Central Park. And to remain centered and serene, I meditate twice a day, a practice that is deeply important to me.
